Currently, I am developing mobile training being used by team members in restaurants. It is amazing to be able to give people a truly interactive learning experience that helps them succeed in their daily roles and responsibilities. Browse through the samples in this first section. They are not complete courses, but rather snap shots of interactive learning activities.

Code of Conduct Sample

iPad Training in Restaurant: This is a sample from a training program for new employees in a restaurant. It is designed to be used on a mobile device (in this case an iPad) by a certified learning coach working directly with new employees at a new restaurant opening. The training is accessed by the coach to ensure consistent training across all restaurants. It is accessed by employees to review guidelines and example videos demonstrating best practices. You will not be able to play the videos, as they are proprietary, but will be able to see where they are included as part of the training.

Code of Conduct Sample

Interactive Scenario Choices: This is a sample from a code of conduct course. It demonstrates a method for encouraging learners to interact with the information in an engaging and meaningful way. Prior to this exercise, the learner has been learning about various conduct guidelines through scenarios and images. Now, the learner needs to demonstrate that he or she can take the information and apply it to new situations.

Originally, this was a company information document that exclusively contained text without examples, scenarios or interactions.

Take 5 Sample

Interactive Safety Lesson (with Flash): This is a sample from a safety course called Take 5. The Take 5 technique is used to quickly assess daily situations that might involve risk, such as driving a car, climbing a truck or performing a new task. In this sample, the user has already been guided earlier in the course on how to conduct the risk assessment and record the information on the required form. This section gives the user an opportunity to practice what he or she has learned while still receiving support and feedback.

**Note: this sample contains audio in a Flash format. If you are using a device that does not support Flash, you will not be able to hear the audio.

Inventory Management Sample

Interactive Flash Exercises: This sample is a section from an Inventory Management course covering the topic of Receiving. It includes a couple of Flash based interactions that give the user practice determining current inventory placement and reorganizing as required by best practices. In this sample, the user has already been introduced an overview of the inventory management system.

**Note: this sample contains a few Flash based interactions. If you are using a device that does not support Flash, you will not be able to interact with certain components of this sample.

A More Engaging "Multiple Choice" Although multiple choice questions are not my first pick, sometimes they lend themselves to the situation. This one definitely gives multiple choice questions a better name. It is a visual representation that requires the users to take what they have learned in the course and apply it to a new scenario.

Basis of Safety Sample Interactive Analysis and Application: This is a sample from a safety course that includes several interactive activities that encourage the user to analyze and apply knowledge they have gained to a series of new situations.
Basis of Safety Sample Visual Demonstration Using Flash: From the same safety course as the previous sample, this animation depicts the elements of an Accident Trajectory while showing the user how the elements work together.
Basis of Safety Sample Engaging Visual Definitions: This sample shows how illustrating a concept and defining terminology can become more memory engaging using streaming visual examples.
